Passion Re-Ken-dled?
“Do... or do not. There is no try.” -Yoda
Okay, I wanted to do a post-Christmas 2021 and pre-birthday first blog post. No snappy opening line. And this probably won’t be the only time I use my name for an awful pun-filled blog title. Truthfully, I did the absolute bare minimum to try to launch this blog as quickly as possible (and I’ll mention why a little later). First blog posts are generally an introduction of what to expect… and you know what? This one will be no different.
This isn’t my first attempt running a blog site, but I do hope it’s my last. In the past, I’ve attempted to write about current events, food, and my most recent attempt was about TV shows four years ago. I hate making excuses so I won’t start here. Just know that I will be forthright in saying that I let my own insecurities keep me from sustaining each one of those failed blogging attempts.
I’ve always had a passion for writing, but I haven’t made an attempt to stoke that passion for more than four years. I will be the first to admit that my writing “skills” have atrophied. It’s sad when the majority of my “writing” consists of composing emails for my day job. And even I’ve learned that “less is more” with work emails.
Earlier, I mentioned that I tried to get this blog site up as quickly as possible. The reason being is that I know how the aesthetics of running a website can be a huge distraction. What theme or template should I pick? What kind of layout should I go with? What kind of font or color scheme should I use? Should I create a logo? Heck, I was even trying to avoid the decision of which platform to use (thanks, Squarespace, sponsor me!). These were all distractions that I wanted to bypass as quickly as possible in the name of content.
Content is king. I hope to remind myself of this every day.
What should you expect from a blog with a URL of kenarceo.com? Again, I want to remind everyone about my failed blog attempts - current events, food, and TV. The reason I wanted to put my name on this blog is that you’re getting all of me… my passions, my interests, and my life. You will be reading a little bit of everything - the past and that “new” new. All will be revealed in due time.
