Twenty22
First day of 2022 down. For the most part, today was a chill and lazy day. I’m still recovering from a cold and don’t have all of my usual energy just yet. I decided to push back on getting some cardio into my day for another day. I plan on starting my day off right tomorrow and getting back on my health grind. It’s been frustrating dealing with gastro issues for most of December leading right into this cold. This is just the latest reminder that I need to prioritize my health especially since I’m no spring chicken anymore. My short-term game plan - just get steps in and then slowly ramp up. I would love to enter my first-ever race before the end of the year. This may not sound like much, but I’ve never been a fan of running and have never entered a race. So if I can mark that off my bucket list this year, that would be huge for me.
I was able to be semi-productive today. Wednesdays are usually my podcast recording day where my cousin, Jeremy, and I record both of our shows to release the following Thursday and Monday. But since I didn’t have my full energy and sounded really congested, Jeremy agreed to split up the recording so that we could record our main show today. In case you’re wondering, we finally recorded our podcast episode on The Matrix Resurrections. Check out the full podcast episode this coming Monday, January 3rd, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen to your podcasts to hear my thoughts on the movie.
As for the episode itself, I thought it was a really good episode. I was curious to see if Jeremy and I would just talk about the same three or four scenes which can be the case on a given podcast. We did end up covering most of the movie and did a solid job of talking about various aspects of The Matrix Resurrections. All in all, it was a very productive meeting… and I’m even talking about the unrecorded part as well. We were able to get a jumpstart on planning the end of our current season - season 3 - as well as start to look forward into season 4 and ways where we can grow our podcast audience. We hope to get that done in the next couple of months. That’s the one thing I love about working with my cousin, Jeremy. We’re both on the same page when it comes to being open to trying new ideas followed by an honest self-assessment after we’ve given it some time.
This is kind of a minor spoiler for Monday’s podcast episode. For our main show, Jeremy and I usually warm up with what we call our podcast ritual where we share one notable movie or television show that we’d like to highlight and share on a given week. And this week, I reveal that I started the new HBO Max show, Station Eleven. I’m already digging the premise of the show after only watching the pilot. Speaking of Station Eleven, this is where I end this blog post so that I can binge the show. More updates to come!
